Cistus salviifolius       6630

Dit is een struik van 20-90cm, liggend of rechtopstaand, zeer vertakt. De twijgen zijn fijn stervormig donzig, zelfs vlokvormig.

Het heeft gesteelde bladeren, cilindrische bladsteel, donkergroen, niet kleverig, nauwelijks geurend, kleiner op de laterale vegetatieve takken en groter op de uitlopers. De bladeren van de scheuten zijn 8-18 x 7-12mm, ovaal of ovaal-langwerpig, geveerd, met een ruwe rand, bijna getand, en een beetje hartvormige basis, met een ruw oppervlak en stervormige haren aan de bovenzijde, met het reticulum en een beetje gebundelde haren aan de onderkant.

De bloeiwijze is 2-10cm, met 1-2 bloemen, niet gerold. De steel en bloemsteeltjes zijn met dichte stervormige dons. De schutbladen zijn 7-18mm, smal, blijvend. De schutbladeren zijn lineair, bladverliezend. Er zijn 5 kelkblaadjes, hangend als ze in fruit zijn. De buitenste zijn 9-18 x 7-12mm, zeer groot, hartvormig, symmetrisch, puntig, strokleurig. De bloembladen zijn 14-20 x 12-16mm, wit. Er zijn 100-120 meeldraden, ongelijk, langer dan de stamper. Het vruchtbeginsel is donzig. De stempel is sessiel, gekarteld.

De doosvrucht is 5-7mm, bolvormig, dun behaard, bijna zwart, openspringend in 5 kleppen. De zaden zijn ongeveer 1mm in diameter, bolvormig, netvormig.

LENTE Week de zaden in warm water van 50°C gedurende 5min. Verwissel door water bij kamertemperatuur om af te koelen gedurende enkele minuten. Zaai de zaden op 2mm diepte in de Drainerende zaaigrond tussen 18-22°C. Tijdens het ontkiemen het substraat vochtig en in het daglicht houden. De zaden ontkiemen in 4-6 weken.
Het gemiddelde zaadgewicht is 925,9 per gram (0,00108g).
