Uitleg
Deze soort dankt zijn naam aan het geslacht Eudesma, vanwege zijn gelijkenis. Deze mallee is endemisch in West-Australië en strekt zich uit van het noordelijke deel van de Darling Range en het westelijke deel van de Northern Wheat Belt tot Shark Bay, en ook verder naar het noorden tot Warroora.

Botanische beschrijving
Deze soort is een mallee en vormt een lignotuber. De bast is meestal glad over de hele stam, wit tot grijs tot bruin van kleur, soms crème tot geel tot roze, soms met een vezelige en ruwe schors van grijs tot bruine kleur. De twijgen zijn soms bedekt met een wit wasachtig laagje.
De jonge stengel is vierkant of afgerond in dwarsdoorsnede, bedekt met wasachtig laagje of niet, harig of glad. De jonge bladeren zijn tegenovergesteld, sessiel en zelden kort gesteeld, ovaal tot hartvormig. Ze meten 2,5 tot 7,5cm lang en 1 tot 3cm breed, de basis is stengel omcirkelend tot afgerond of zelfs taps toelopend tot de bladsteel. De top is afgerond tot breed toegespitst, het blad is zeegroen tot grijsgroen, kaal. De volwassen bladeren zijn 4 tot 8cm lang en 0,6 tot 1,5cm breed, tegenovergesteld tot half-tegenovergesteld en gesteeld van 0,3 tot 1cm lang, het blad is lancetvormig tot sikkelvormig. De basis loopt taps toe tot de bladsteel. Het blad is aan beide kanten dezelfde kleur, dof, grijsgroen tot groen. De netvorming is zwak of matig, de intra-marginale ader is aanwezig.
De bloeiwijze is axillair, eenvoudig, onvertakt, met een steel van 0,3 tot 1,3cm lang, samengesteld uit 3 knoppen per scherm, steel van 0,3 tot 0,7cm lang. De volwassen knop is knotsvormig. De knop is 0,5 tot 0,7cm lang en 0,4 tot 0,5cm breed. De bloembeker bestaat uit 4 hoeken. Het operculum is over het algemeen rond. De meeldraden zijn gegroepeerd in 4 clusters, naar binnen verbogen. De helmknoppen zijn langwerpig, veelzijdig, aan de rug bevestigd, gebarsten door longitudinale spleten, de stijl is kort, de stempel is stomp. Er zijn 3 of 4 locules. De bloemen zijn witachtig van kleur.
De vrucht is gesteeld van 0,2 tot 0,5cm lang, tonvormig of halfrond. De vrucht is 0,7 tot 1,3cm lang en 0,6 tot 1cm breed, meestal in 4 hoeken met 3 of 4 kleppen aan de rand of ingesloten. De zaden zijn bruin tot zwart, 3 tot 4mm lang, afgeplat-eivormig, het dorsale oppervlak is diep netvormig, met een glad oppervlak zonder putjes, ventrale hilum.

De Geslacht: Eucalyptus Ondergeslacht: Eudesmia Sectie: Limbatae Ondersectie: Heteropterae Serie: Tetraedrae heeft de volgende kenmerken: Cotyledonen die reniform van vorm zijn en gevouwen en omklemd in embryo, knoppen met de kelk vrij en duidelijk als vier kleine tanden rond de middellijn van de knop. (Bij secties Ebbanoenses en Reticulatae in deze onderklasse is de kelk versmolten met de bloemkroon en zichtbaar als vier kleine tanden aan de top van de knop.) Binnen het ondergeslacht Eudesmia behoort Eucalyptus eudesmioides tot de sectie Limbatae, serie Heteropterae, subserie Tetraedrae, die verder wordt gekarakteriseerd. door zaailingen te hebben met stervormige haren, de aanwezigheid van olieklieren in het merg van de twijgen, meeldraden gerangschikt in vier bundels, geflensde ± piramidale zaden en knoppen en fruit vierkant in doorsnede.

LENTE Selecteer de grootste en meest vlezige ZWARTE zaden. Zaai de zaden op 2mm diepte in de Drainerende zaaigrond tussen 18-22°C. Tijdens het ontkiemen het substraat vochtig en in het daglicht houden. De zaden ontkiemen in 3-6 weken. De levensvatbaarheid van het zaad, bewaard onder goede omstandigheden, is 10 jaren.
