Een mallee van wijdverbreide verspreiding in woestijngebieden ver van de kust, noordwestelijk van Kalgoorlie in West-Australië, oostwaarts en noordelijk van de Nullarbor-vlakte tot de Gawler Ranges ten westen van Port Augusta in Zuid-Australië. De oorsprong van de naam Eucalyptus concinna komt van het Latijnse ‘concinnus’, wat netjes, mooi betekent, verwijzend naar de bloemknoppen. Deze soort groeit op neutrale tot licht alkalische zand- of leemzandgronden. Het is geschikt voor halfdroge of droge klimaten met goed doorlatende grond. Het ondersteunt droogte en wat vorst.

Botanische beschrijving
Deze Eucalyptus wordt een mallee of een kleine boom met enkele stam of meerdere stammen, met de lignotuber aanwezig. De bast is ruw grijsbruin, dik tot schilferig tot de helft van de stam of soms geheel glad, lichtgrijs over koperachtig.
De stengels zijn vierkant in dwarsdoorsnede, met wasachtige toppen. De jonge bladeren zijn altijd gesteeld en tegenovergesteld voor een paar knooppunten en wisselen dan af, ovaal tot breed lansvormig. Ze zijn 4,5 tot 8cm lang en 2,3 tot 3,7cm breed, met een taps toelopende basis, de onderste bladeren zijn zeegroenig maar worden grijsgroen tot groen. De volwassen bladeren zijn afwisselend, gesteeld van 1 tot 2cm lang, het blad is lansvormig, 7,3 tot 14cm lang en 0,8 tot 2cm breed, basis loopt taps toe naar de bladsteel, aan beide kanten dezelfde kleur, helder, groen. De netvorming is dicht. De intra-marginale ader is parallel aan en dicht bij de marge.
De bloeiwijze is onvertakt axillair, met een steel van 0,7 tot 1,5cm lang en samengesteld uit 7, 9 of 11 knoppen per scherm, steeltjes van 0,2 tot 0,9cm lang. De volwassen knoppen zijn langwerpig tot omgekeerd eivormig of peervormig. De knoppen zijn 0,6 tot 1,2cm lang en 0,4 tot 1cm breed, groenbruin. Het litteken ontbreekt. Het operculum is breder dan het hypanthium bij de samenkomst, het is conisch, afgerond, afgeplat, radiaal gestreept of glad. De meeldraden zijn verbogen, de helmknoppen zijn wigvormig, veelzijdig, aan de rug bevestigd, uitgesneden door longitudinale spleten, de stijl is lang, de stempel is stomp. 3 tot 5 locules aanwezig. De bloemen zijn wit in april en van september tot november.
De vrucht is gesteeld van 0,1 tot 0,8cm lang, meestal komvormig of omgekeerd kegelvormig van 0,5 tot 1,2cm lang en 0,6 tot 1,1cm breed, soms licht geribbeld, 3 tot 5 kleppen. De zaden zijn donkerbruin van kleur, 1 tot 2,5mm lang, eivormig of afgeplat eivormig, met een gepit dorsaal oppervlak, ventrale hilum.

De Geslacht: Eucalyptus Ondergeslacht: Symphyomyrtus Sectie: Dumaria Serie: Corrugatae heeft de volgende kenmerken: De knoppen twee opercula hebben, de meeldraden sterk inflex zijn, de eitjes in vier rijen op de placentae en de zaadlobben zijn reniform. Binnen deze grotere groep vormen Eucalyptus concinna en zes andere soorten een subgroep, serie Corrugatae, alle met eivormige, opvallend ontpitte zaden en met donkerbruine olieklieren in het merg van de twijgen.
Nuttige plant
Het wordt niet gebruikt in de bosbouw, maar staat bekend om zijn honingproductie.

LENTE Selecteer de grootste en meest vlezige ZWARTE zaden. Zaai de zaden op 2mm diepte in de Drainerende zaaigrond tussen 18-22°C. Tijdens het ontkiemen het substraat vochtig en in het daglicht houden. De zaden ontkiemen in 3-6 weken. De levensvatbaarheid van het zaad, bewaard onder goede omstandigheden, is 10 jaren.
