Acacia fimbriata 'Dwarf'       0

Deze dwergvorm wordt slechts 1.5m hoog. De twijgen zijn slank, met beharing van korte, spreidende tot samengedrukte haren, vaak beperkt tot de fijne ribben, soms kaal.

De fyllodia zijn lineair tot smal langwerpig-elliptisch of smal lancetvormig, gewoonlijk 2-5cm lang en 2-5mm breed, acuut tot stomp-puntje, dun, licht tot dicht bedekt aan de randjes met gesloten haren, soms kaal. De hoofdnerf is fijn. De laterale nerven zijn zeldzaam en onduidelijk. Er zijn 1, zelden 2, klieren, prominent maar niet of slechts licht uitgestoken, de onderste 1-6mm boven het bladkussentje.

De bloeiwijzen zijn trosvormig. De assen van de trossen zijn 1,5-7,5cm lang, slank, kaal of behaard. De steeltjes zijn 1,5-5mm lang, slank, kaal of harig. De hoofdjes zijn opzichtig, bolvormig, 8-20-bloemig, meestal helder goudkleurig. De bloemen zijn 5-voudig. De kelkblaadjes zijn voor circa 3/4 verenigd, vaak gedeeltelijk gescheiden wanneer ze ouder worden.

De peulen zijn tot 8cm lang, 5-9mm breed, stevig papierachtig, gewoonlijk berijpt, kaal. De zaden zijn longitudinaal, langwerpig-elliptisch, 4-5mm lang, een beetje glanzend, zwart. De zaadmantel is knotsvormig.

De Geslacht: Acacia Ondergeslacht: Phyllodineae Sectie: Acacia heeft de volgende kenmerken: Bomen of struiken, soms uitgestrekt. Takken ongewapend. stipules normaal aanwezig en eng, zelden spinose. Bladeren dubbel geveerd of vaker gemodificeerd tot polymorfe phyllodes, zelden verkleind tot schubben of afwezig. Bloeiwijzen enkelvoudig of trosvormig, soms in paniek; bloemen gerangschikt in hoofden of spikes; hoofden zonder omhulsel op de steel; bloemen zonder gynofoor.

Subgenus Phyllodineae bevat ongeveer 950 soorten, waarvan de meeste zijn beperkt tot Australië; naar schatting zijn er minstens 50 extra, nog onbeschreven soorten.

Dit is de grootste groep binnen het subgenus Phyllodineae. Het is wijdverbreid in Australië, met de meest soortenrijke gebieden ten zuiden van de Steenbokskeerkring in de gematigde en aangrenzende semi-aride gebieden van Oost-, Zuidoost- en Zuidwest-Australië; de sectie is slecht vertegenwoordigd in het tropische/subtropische noorden van het continent. Er zijn geen inheemse soorten van sectie Phyllodineae die buiten Australië voorkomen.

LENTE Week de zaden in warm water van 99°C gedurende 12h. Zaai de zaden op 5mm diepte in de Drainerende zaaigrond tussen 18-22°C. Tijdens het ontkiemen het substraat vochtig en in het daglicht houden. De zaden ontkiemen in 2-3 weken. De levensvatbaarheid van het zaad, bewaard onder goede omstandigheden, is 10 jaren.

Stek instructies
Neem de stekken aan het einde van de lente, laat ze weken in een hormonaal preparaat voor stekken. Plant ze in een substraat dat rijk is aan perliet en houd ze voldoende vochtig in afgesloten diepvrieszakjes.
