Description
Du latin rosaceus pour rose en référence à la couleur de la floraison. Il est endémique de l’ouest australien, à l’est de Laverton et de Queen Victoria springs vers Neale jonction dans le grand désert Victoria.

Description botanique
C’est un mallee qui forme un lignotuber. Son écorce est lisse sur l’ensemble du tronc, gris foncé et clair sur gris rosâtre ou gris jaune et blanc.
Les feuilles juvéniles sont sessiles à peu pétiolées, alternes et linéaires. Elles mesurent de 3,5 à 8cm de long pour 0,2 à 0,4cm de large, ternes et gris vert. Les feuilles adultes plus ou moins dressées, sont alternes et pétiolées (pétiole de 0,4 à 1cm de long). limbe linéaire à étroitement oblong. Elles mesurent de 6 à 12cm de long pour 0,5 à 1cm de large. Base atténuée au pétiole. Bord entier, pointe effilée. Concolores, ternes, gris-vert à vert bleuâtre. Réticulation dense et veine intra marginale proche du bord.
L’inflorescence axillaire non ramifiée est pendante, sur pédoncule de 1 à 3cm de long. Elle porte 3 à 7 bourgeons sur pédicelles de 0,7 à 1cm de long. À maturité, les bourgeons sont ovoïdes (1,1 à 1,7cm de long pour 0,6 à 0,7cm de large). Cicatrice présente, mince opercule à bec, étamines en forme de cône ou tubulaire sur environ la moitié de leur longueur. Quelques filaments externes sont dressés, le reste inflexé à divers degrés. Anthères oblongues, polyvalentes, dorsifixées, déhiscentes longitudinalement. Style long et droit, stigmate émoussé à effilé. 4 à 5 locules. La floraison rose, parfois crème ou rouge a été enregistrée en décembre.
Le fruit sur pédicelle de 0,8 à 1,1cm long, est légèrement hémisphérique à obconique (presque en forme de soucoupe), il mesure 0,3 à 0,5cm de long pour 0,6 à 1,2cm de large. 4 à 5 valves. Les graines sont brunes de 1 à 2mm de long, angulaire-ovoïdes à peine striées sur la surface ventrale, surface dorsale peu profondément réticulée. Hile ventral à plus ou moins terminal.

Dans cette sous-section Eucalyptus rosacea est en série Curviptera, l'une des 30 espèces et sous-espèces étroitement apparentées qui se caractérisent en outre par de gros bourgeons en ombelles d'un, trois ou sept, des filaments staminaux dressés ou obliques (rarement inflexés) en bourgeon, et de gros fruits généralement avec un disque ascendant et des valves exercées.

PRINTEMPS Sélectionner les graines BRUNES les plus grosses et les plus charnues. Semer les graines à 2mm de profondeur dans le Terreau drainant pour semis entre 15-20°C.
