Description
Cette espèce doit son nom au genre Eudesma, du fait de sa ressemblance. Ce mallee est endémique de l’Australie occidentale, s’étendant de la partie nord de la chaine Darling et de la partie ouest de la ceinture de blé du Nord jusqu’ŕ Shark Bay, et également plus au nord à Warroora.

Description botanique
Cette espèce est un arbre et forme un lignotuber. Son écorce est habituellement lisse sur tout le tronc, de couleur, blanc à gris à brun, parfois crème à jaune à rose, occasionnellement avec un stock d’écorce fibreuse et rugueuse de couleur gris à brun. Les rameaux sont parfois légèrement glauques.
La tige juvénile est carrée ou arrondie en coupe transversale, glauque à non glauque, poilu à non poilu. Les feuilles juvéniles sont opposées et sessiles rarement courtement pétiolées, ovales à cordées. Elles mesurent de 2,5 à 7,5cm de long et de 1 à 3cm de large la base est amplexicaule à arrondie voire atténuée au pétiole. L’apex est rondi à largement acuminé, le limbe est glauque à gris-vert, glabres. Les feuilles adultes mesurent 4 à 8cm de long pour 0,6 à 1,5cm de large, opposées à sub-opposées et pétiolées sur 0,3 à 1cm de long, le limbe est lancéolé à falciforme. La base est atténuée au pétiole. Le limbe est concolore, terne, gris-vert à vert. La réticulation est faible ou modérée, la nervure intra marginale est présente.
L’inflorescence est axillaire, simple, non ramifiée, avec un pédoncule qui mesure 0,3 à 1,3cm de long, composée de 3 bourgeons par ombelles, pédicelle mesurant de 0,3 à 0,7cm de long. Le bourgeon mature est claviforme. Le bourgeon mesure 0,5 à 0,7cm de long pour 0,4 à 0,5cm de large. L’hypanthium est composé de 4 angles, non-glauque. L’opercule est généralement rond. Les étamines sont regroupées en 4 groupes, inflexées. Les anthères sont oblongues, polyvalentes, dorsifixées, déhiscentes par des fentes longitudinales non confluentes, le style est court, le stigmate est émoussé. Les locules sont au nombre de 3 ou 4. Les fleurs de couleur blanchâtre.
Le fruit est pédicellé de 0,2 à 0,5cm de long, en forme de tonneau ou hémisphérique. Le fruit mesure 0,7 à 1,3cm de long pour 0,6 à 1cm de large, habituellement à 4 angles avec 3 ou 4 valves près du niveau du bord ou fermées. Les graines sont brunes à noires, de 3 à 4mm de long, aplaties-ovoïdes, la surface dorsale est profondément réticulée, à surface lisse non piquetée, hile ventral.

Le Genre: Eucalyptus Sous-genre: Eudesmia Section: Limbatae Sous-section: Heteropterae Serie: Tetraedrae ayant les caractères suivants : Des cotylédons de forme réniforme et pliés et étreints dans l'embryon, bourgeons avec le calice libre et évidents comme quatre petites dents autour de la ligne médiane du bourgeon. (Les sections Ebbanoenses et Reticulatae dans ce sous-genre ont le calice fusionné à la corolle et évident comme quatre petites dents à l'apex du bourgeon.) Dans le sous-genre Eudesmia, Eucalyptus eudesmioides appartient à la section Limbatae, série Heteropterae, sous-série Tetraedrae, qui est davantage caractérisée en ayant des feuilles de semis à poils étoilés, la présence de glandes sébacées dans la moelle des rameaux, des étamines disposées en quatre faisceaux, des graines et des boutons à rebord ± pyramidaux et des fruits en coupe transversale.

Pendant la germination garder le substrat humide et à la lumière du jour. Les graines germent en 3-6 semaines. La viabilité des graines, gardées sous des bonnes conditions, est 10 années.
