Description
Épithète issu du grec Dendros pour arbre et morphos pour forme, afin d'accentuer la différence avec les autres espèces apparentées qui sont des mallee. Il est endémique de la Nouvelle Galles du Sud, présent sur les plateaux et les pentes des Blue Mountains au sud de Budawang.

Description botanique
C'est un arbre a une seule tige, lignotuber absent. Son écorce est généralement rugueuse sur la partie basse du tronc, compacte grise ou brune. Puis lisse, blanche, crème ou grise sur la partie haute. Elle forme également des rubans. Les jeunes arbres reproductifs peuvent ne pas avoir d'écorce rugueuse.
Les feuilles adultes sont alternes, pétiole de 0,6 à 1,5cm de long, limbe lancéolé à falciforme. Elles mesurent de 7 à 12cm de long pour 1 à 2,5cm de large. La base est généralement oblique. Elles sont concolores, brillantes, peu réticulées. Nervures intra marginale parallèle et proche du bord.
L'inflorescence axillaire non ramifiée, pédoncule de 0,6 à 1,5cm de long, porte 7 à 11 bourgeons par ombelle, sur pédicelle de 0,2 à 0,6cm de long. À maturité, les bourgeons sont de forme obovoïde, ils mesurent 0,5 à 0,6cm de long pour 0,2 à 0,3cm de large, lisses et parfois verruqueux. Sans cicatrice, l'opercule est de forme conique à arrondi-apiculé. Les étamines sont irrégulièrement fléchies, les anthères sont réniformes à cordées, polyvalentes et dorsifixées. Le style est long, le stigmate effilé, 3 à 4 locules. La floraison blanche est enregistrée en janvier, juin et décembre.
Les fruits pédicellés (pédicelle 0,1 à 0,5cm de long), cupéliforme voire en forme de tonneau, mesurent 0,7 à 1cm de long pour 0,7 à 1,1cm de large. 3 à 4 valves. Les graines brunes de 1,5 à 2mm sont pyramidales ou obliquement pyramidales. Surface dorsale lisse. Hile terminal.

Au sein de la série Strictae, Eucalyptus dendromorpha est l'une des six espèces étroitement apparentées de la sous-série Irregulares, toutes avec des glandes sébacées foliaires de contour irrégulier.

PRINTEMPS Sélectionner les graines BRUNES les plus grosses et les plus charnues. Garder pendant 4 semaines au frigo à 4°C dans le substrat humide. Semer les graines à 2mm de profondeur dans le Terreau drainant pour semis entre 15-20°C. Pendant la germination garder le substrat humide et à la lumière du jour.
