Melaleuca beaufortioides Observed in Australia by pmnewport (license)
Botanical Description
It is a dwarf to small shrub (0,8-3m x 1-2,5m). The young shoots are hairy. The many branches are arching, spreading, initially hairy and becoming glabrous.

The leaves are 0,4-0,6cm x up to 0,5cm, ovate, occasionally linear-lanceolate, 3-veined, spreading, recurved, crowded, glabrous when mature.

The flowers are about 1cm across, orange, usually 2-5 per head, terminal, often profuse.

The fruit is barrel-shaped, to 0,8cm across, glabrous.
Useful plant
In temperate regions it is prone to attack by grey mould during still, humid weather and it therefore does best in an open situation. Some plants may become leggy. Pruning helps to promote bushy growth.
