Description
It is present in the extreme west of the Northern Territory as well as in the south until Katherine. From the Greek 'di', two and 'chromo', colour and 'phloia', bark, referring to the bark colour: white with red flakes.

Botanical Description
It is a tree. A lignotuber is present on its roots and at the bulge of the base of the main trunk. Its white bark is smooth, it can seasonally shed into small fine strips of brownish orange red color.

The juvenile leaves are always petiolate, opposite for about 15 nodes then alternate, large, ovate and broadly lanceolate, sometimes more or less deltoid or elliptical. They measure from 9.5 to 22cm long by 5.5 to 10cm wide. The apex is rounded and pointed, green in color. The lower leaves are scabrid with hard hairs. The upper leaves are more or less smooth. The adult leaves are alternate, petiolate with lanceolate to falcate blade 7 to 23cm long and 0.8 to 5.5cm wide, pointed apex, concolorous, green and smooth.

The inflorescence is terminal, it consists of 7 buds per umbel, pedicelled. At maturity they are ovoid or obovoid to pyriform or globular. The flowers are white and have blunt stigmas. They carry a fringe of papillae with 3 or 4 locules.

The fruits are pedicelled in the shape of a barrel 0.8 to 1.3 cm long and 0.6 to 1.1 cm wide, smooth with enclosed valves. The seeds are brown, they are 5 to 9mm long and are ellipsoidal.

The Genus: Corymbia Subgenus: Corymbia Section: Rufaria having the following characters: It occurs disjunctly in the Newcastle Range in north-eastern Queensland and differs in having slightly larger fruit on longer pedicels and lacks any glaucescence in juvenile foliage.

Sowing instructions
SPRING Select the largest and most fleshy BROWN seeds. Sow the seeds at 2mm depth in the Well Drained Seed Sowing Mix and pouwder with 2mm Smoked Vermiculite (0,012g/cm²) between 68-77°F. During germination keep the substrate moist and in daylight. The seeds germinate in 2-12 weeks.
The average seed weight is 196,1 per gram (0,0051g).
