Botanical Description
This a perennial plant 10cm to 90cm high. The rhizomes that appear slightly are woody. The stems are gray-green and downy. The leaves are reniform to orbicular-reniform, glabrous above or rarely with sparse hairs in the folds. There are 9-11 lobes, rounded, with rather wide, acute, subequal teeth.
The flowers are corymbose, yellow, 5mm. The flower stem grows in a pleiochasial sympodial branching. The nut bears one seed at a time.
Edible plant
It is edible thanks to its young leaves. Rather, they are eaten mixed with other salads or simply cooked in water.
Medicinal plant
It is particularly known for its healing, anti-inflammatory and anti-hemorrhagic properties. Its astringent properties make this plant an effective treatment against diarrhea and other gastroenteritis. It treats menstrual cycle disorders, endometriosis as well as fibroids. In addition, it would act on progesterone or on the liver as a decongestant.
