Gevuina avellana is a plant species of the Proteaceae family, constituting a native monospecific genus in Chile. It is distributed between 35º and 45º S latitude from sea level up to 700m elevation. An evergreen tree, it grows under the influence of a temperate oceanic climate in a wide range of temperatures and rainfall and has good cold temperature (frost) tolerance. It is adapted to diverse types of well-drained soils and a range of organic matter.

Sowing instructions
AUTUMN Soak the seeds in warm water of 140°F for 12-24h (Change the water every 12 hours) until the seeds swell. Keep in refrigerator at 39°F for 6 weeks in humid substrat. Sow the seeds at 5mm depth in the Acid Substrate between 64-72°F. During germination keep the substrate moist and in daylight.
The average weight per seed is 1,36788g.
The viability of the seeds, kept under good conditions, is 2 years.
