Botanical Description
This is a shrub or subshrub up to 1m tall, sometimes creeping. The stems and branches with abundant hairs of two types, some long, patent and other short, curved and appressed. The spines are straight or arcuate, patent or reflexed. The primary spines are alternate, up to 3cm, rigid, glabrous or subglabrous, sometimes with curved hairs at base. The secondaries and tertials are densely clustered at the base of primaries, fasciculate, longer shorter than the primaries.
The primary phyllodes are 5-8mm, triangular-lanceolate or linear-lanceolate, spinescent, patent, ciliate on the margins, pubescent or glabrous. The secondaries are lanceolate-linear, frequently almost as long as its spine. The bracteoles are 0.5-1 x 0.5-1.5mm, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, pubescent. The pedicels are 3-6mm. The calyx is 9-12mm, with lips that taper progressively towards the base, at least the lower one, with short, applied hairs of variable density. The upper lip is 2-4mm wide. The upper petal is 11-15.5 x 6-9mm, generally exceeding the calyx by more than 2mm and longer than the wings, glabrous. The wings are 9.5-14 x 2-4mm, equal to or slightly longer than keel. The keel is 9.5-13.5 x 3-4.5mm.
The fruit is 8-10.5 x 3.5-4.5mm, as long as the calyx or somewhat shorter, obovate or obovate-oblong, with 1-4 seeds, with long soft hairs. The seeds are 2.2-2.8 x 2-2.5mm.
