Description
In nature, this species grows in a wide range of soil and climatic conditions in Western Australia. It is named after Ludwig Preiss, 19th century German botanist.

Botanical Description
It is a slender, erect, dwarf shrub (0.3-1m x 0.3-1m). The branches are upright.
The leaves are to 0.3cm, narrow, nearly terete, blunt tipped, decussate on smaller branches, dense.
The flowers are about 0.5cm in diameter, 1-3 or sometimes more, borne on stalks about 0.5cm long, attached to a common peduncle, white. The capsule is woody, 3-celled, flat-topped.
