Description
It is an endemic species of the Madeira Islands, it grows in wet and cool undergrowth under a strong oceanic influence.
Very simple structure because once divided, this species looks like Polystichum munitum in reduced size, it does not exceed 60cm.
It comes in the form of dense, compact tufts from a single upright rhizome. The new fronds are tender green, gradually turning greener.
It is an attractive species which can resist occasional frosts and is rather undemanding.
