Botanical Description
It is a mallee which forms a lignotuber. Its bark is smooth over the entire trunk, dark and light gray over pinkish gray or gray yellow and white.
The juvenile leaves are sessile to shortly petiolate, alternate and linear. They are 3.5 to 8cm long and 0.2 to 0.4cm wide, dull and gray-green. The more or less erect adult leaves are alternate and petiolate (petiole 0.4 to 1cm long). Leaf blade linear to narrowly oblong. They are 6 to 12cm long and 0.5 to 1cm wide. Base tapered to the petiole. Entire margin, pointed apex. Concolorous, dull, gray-green to bluish green. Dense reticulation and intra-marginal vein close to the margin.
The unbranched axillary inflorescence is pendulous, on a peduncle from 1 to 3cm long. It has 3 to 7 buds on pedicels 0.7 to 1cm long. At maturity, the buds are ovoid (1.1 to 1.7 cm long and 0.6 to 0.7 cm wide). Scar present, slenderly beaked operculum, stamens connate into a tube for about half their length. Some outer filaments are erect, the rest inflexed to varying degrees. Anthers oblong, versatile, dorsifixed, dehiscent longitudinally. Long, straight style, blunt to tapered stigma. 4 to 5 locules. Pink, sometimes cream or red, flowering was recorded in December.
The fruit on pedicel from 0.8 to 1.1 cm long, is slightly hemispherical to obconical (almost saucer-shaped), it measures 0.3 to 0.5 cm long and 0.6 to 1.2 cm wide. 4 to 5 valves. The seeds are brown, 1 to 2mm long, angular-ovoid, scarcely ridged on the ventral surface, dorsal surface shallowly reticulate. Ventral to more or less terminal hilum.

Member of
The Genus: Eucalyptus Subgenus: Symphyomyrtus Section: Bisectae Subsection: Destitutae Serie: Curviptera Subserie: Synandrae having the following characters: The buds have two opercula, cotyledons are Y-shaped and branchlets lack oil glands in the pith. Within this subsection Eucalyptus rosacea is in series Curviptera, one of about 30 closely related species and subspecies which are further characterised by having large buds in umbels of one, three or seven, staminal filaments erect or oblique (rarely inflexed) in bud, and large fruit usually with an ascending disc and exserted valves.

Sowing instructions
SPRING Select the largest and most fleshy BROWN seeds. Sow the seeds at 2mm depth in the Well Drained Seed Sowing Mix between 59-68°F. During germination keep the substrate moist and in daylight. The seeds germinate in 3-6 weeks. The viability of the seeds, kept under good conditions, is 10 years.
The average seed weight is 116,0 per gram (0,00862g).
