Description
This species is widespread in moist, sandy heathlands, damp places and along stream banks in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia, West Australia and Northern Territory. The species epithet means ‘without nodes’.

Botanical Description
This species is 0.3-0.45m tall. The culms are 0.1-0.15cm thick, erect, grayish green, wiry, without septa. The flowerheads are globular, brownish. The spikelets are 0.35cm long. The nut is 0.25cm long, globular.
Useful plant
This is a useful greyish rush-like plant for growing in a rockery or amongst small shrubs.
