Achnatherum bromoides       0

This is a perennial, with short creeping rhizomes. The stems are to 1m, erect, solitary or fasciculate, slender, smooth. The ligule is obsolete.

The leaf blades are glaucous, setaceous-convolute, scabrid to pilose above. The panicle is linear, contracted, to 30cm, spikelets few, 8-10mm.

The glumes are lanceolate, subequal, distinctly 3-veined, whitish-green. The lemma is 6-8mm, dorsal surface covered with adpressed hairs, more densely hairy towards base, glabrescent above. The awn is inserted between 2 teeth at apex, 12-18mm, straight, not twisted, scabridulous.
